Microsoft recently announced the availability of the Lumia 530 in South Africa, with a recommended retail price starting at just R1349. A powerful entry to Windows Phone 8.1, the Lumia 530 delivers many of the innovations and services found in high-end Lumia smartphones.

The Lumia 530 provides the perfect balance of latest smartphone features at a very affordable price, intending to engage more people into the Microsoft ecosystem. With the leading personalisation brought by Windows Phone 8.1, the Lumia 530 delivers:

• The latest version of Windows Phone 8.1 including one swipe notifications from Action Center, new Live Tile and background settings, and the fast Word Flow keyboard.
• A powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor delivering a lag-free user experience for your favourite apps, gaming and internet browsing on the 4-inch display.
• Seamless integration with Microsoft services such as Skype and Microsoft Office.
• Popular apps such as Uber, Instagram, WhatsApp, Viber and WeChat available in the Windows Phone Store.
• Great offline services that save time and money, including uninterrupted music streaming with MixRadio, and maps with offline navigation both home and abroad.
• A smooth performance with signature Lumia apps such as Creative Studio and Glam Me, which helps people take quality voice-guided selfies with the 5MP rear camera.
• More of the content and apps people love with 4GB of on-board memory, expandable with SD cards of up to 128GB. Plus, an additional 15GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive that lets people sync, store, access and share files between Lumia 530 and computers, laptops and tablets.

“With high end apps, features and exceptional build quality at an amazing price, the Lumia 530 sets the benchmark for high-quality, affordable smartphones,” says Shaun Durandt, GM for Mobile Device Sales at Microsoft South Africa. “The target with devices like the 530 is to welcome more people to the Windows Phone ecosystem, with devices that light up Microsoft’s digital work and life experiences.”
