Duxbury Networking has added the HP 2530 switch series to its portfolio. Comprising four models – the J953A, 54A, 55A and 56A – the series is targeted at enterprise edge, branch office and small-to-medium size business (SMB) deployments.Capable of scaling to meet users’ needs, the fixed-port, fully-managed Layer 2 (data link layer) network switches are available in 8-, 24-, and 48-port Gigabit or Fast Ethernet options.

“The RJ-45 ports also add value and minimise wiring needs with an optional PoE+ [Power over Ethernet] capability enabling devices to be powered via Ethernet cables,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking.

Able to be wall, table or rack mounted, the switches are suitable for voice, video and wireless applications. Key features include SFP (small form-factor pluggable) ports for fibre connectivity together with a number of management configurations designed to ensure that best operating practices are met.

“The HP 2530 series switches – which come with an extensive warranty and technical support – maximise ROI [return on investment] for existing infrastructures and minimise costs for new installations,” adds Robb.
